Harley Davidson Accessories

Harley Davidson is an immensely popular motorcycle manufacturer that dates back to 1903 and was one of only two American motor cycle companies to survive the Depression. As a result of its popularity, there are numerous Harley Davidson accessories available today to personalize anything from your hog to your PDA. Licensing of the Harley Davidson logo accounts for as much as 5% of the company’s net revenue, so not only are there tons of ways to personalize your bike, but there are also many ways to show your pride for the Harley brand in the gear that you wear both on and off your ride.

Since there are so many accessories out there, I’ve broken up the subject into two hubs; this one is dedicated to the accessories that you wear or can use away from the motorcycle and I’ll be creating a second hub called Harley accessories that will be focused entirely on Harley Davidson parts and accessories for the motorcycles. While most people would expect that Harley Davidson has their name all over different types of gear to be used along with their motorcycles like Harley Davidson jackets, rain gear, gloves, helmets, boot and eyewear. However, did you know that you can also get official Harley Davidson merchandise that includes: hair accessories, tools, belts and buckles as well as jewelry, wallets, bags and lounge wear? We’ll go through many of these options that are available for the die-hard bikers and weekend warriors alike.

Before we dive into the numerous accessories available that sport the Harley Davidson logo I want to explain the pricing that appears on this hubpage. Any price that is followed by MSRP was found on the official Harley Davidson website. MSRP is short for Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price, the key word to keep.in mind is the word "suggested", that means that the individual retailer can sell for less.  So if you have a Harley store in your town, there's a good chance that you'll find the items listed in this hub for less than the price that I listed - so that should be good news. The MSRP is still a good guideline for you because you'll know that the item won't cost more than the price I've listed; if you find the exact same price in a store that I list on this page - you might want to keep shopping around or wait for a sale before you buy. 

With that out of the way, lets check out some cool Harley Davidson Accessories!

There are hair accessories listed on the Harley Davidson site for women and include various types of headbands, hair ties and head wraps. Most of these hair accessories come in black with the Harley logo or with skulls emblazoned upon them. There are also options for both genders that include wind resistant and reflective knit hats and ear warmers. Lastly you can also find baseball caps and flat top caps. These accessories range from $12 MSRP (for a hair tie) to between $20 - $25 for either a flat top or baseball cap to a knit hat.

Okay, tools is an overstatement - there is only one tool listed on their website and it’s nothing that you’re going to use to repair your motorcycle or do some sprucing up around the house. The tool is actually a stainless steel anodized aluminum carabiner with a silk screened Harley Davidson graphic on it. It features a bottle opener and a flashlight, both of which could come in handy from time to time. You can get one for $10 MSRP.

Whether you’re looking for a basic jean belt, a reversible belt, a dress belt or a skull embossed belt there are plenty of options available for both men and women. As you might expect, each belt is either brown or black and made of high quality leather. The belts start at $45 MSRP and go upward to $65 depending on the size and style that you choose. You might want to save some money for the Harley Davidson belt buckles though because there are some really cool looking ones out there. The Men’s Sculpted Skull Buckle caught my attention right away - at $30 MRSP it’s not exactly cheap, but more than makes up with it with the coolness factor. But for those that aren’t as fond of the grinning skull motif, there are straight Harley Davidson logo buckles or the flame buckle for $25 MRSP. These buckles are made to fit with just about any Harley belt that’s one and a half inches wide. Women don’t have to feel left out either as there’s the equally cool Women’s Crystal Skull Buckle and the slight more understated Women’s Crystal Harley Buckle with the word “Harley” in handwriting style - but that coolness is pricy ladies; $60 - $120 MRSP, but I’m sure a dealer somewhere will sell for much less.

Whether you’re looking for a watch, a ring, a necklace or even a bracelet - Harley Davidson has you covered. Most are available in silver, black or some combination of the two in styles for both men and women. The rings, necklaces and bracelets are made from sterling silver. For those special occasions, there are also men’s cuff links featuring the Harley bar and shield or the way cool watch on a chain that’s made from antiqued pewter with the eagle bar and shield medallion ($150 MSRP). Women get to also choose from a selection of earrings including dangles and hoops; filigree necklaces several types of bling rings. Prices range from $25 - $110 MRSP depending on the particular ladies jewelry item that catches your fancy.

While wearing leather is pretty much a code of the road, it’s usually the last thing that you want to kick back and relax in after a long day on the road. Harley Davidson lounge wear offers boxers and lounge pants for the men and thongs, nightshirts, yoga pants, tank tops and shorts for the ladies. These clothing options offer the best in comfort and style. They feature either 100% cotton or cotton and spandex blends and different options such as skulls, flames or the Harley logo. Prices range from $30 - $45 for the ladies and $15 - $30 for the men.

What do you get for the Harley Davidson fan that has everything? How about a purse or a wallet? For men there are exceptional tri fold wallets and money clips. The wallets are made from genuine full grain leather and sport the embossed bar and shield logo; you can also get a biker chain to make sure the wallet doesn’t get away from you when you’re on the road. Money clips are fashioned from black powder coated spring steel with antique nickel plate inset and embossed graphics. The clips are only $15 MRSP, while the wallets will run you anywhere from $20 - $60. For ladies that are looking for something that can carry more than some cash, there are mini belt bags and hip bags available to choose from in nylon or lambskin ranging from $15 - $65.

Getting the sunglasses can make all the difference when you're out on the road, so once again Harley Davidson has you covered with some great glasses that offer UV protection, cut down glare and look great at the same time.

To get the right sunglasses for long rides, you need to make sure that the frames fit your face perfectly. Ideally, the perfect sunglasses would be so comfortable that you'd almost forget that you were wearing them. Make sure to factor in the type of helmet that you wear; if you wear an open face helmet you need to make sure that the glasses you choose will remain secure on your face no matter how bumpy the ride gets.

Eye protection is important, you need to make sure that the sunglasses that you choose have both UVA and UVB protection.  Studies have shown that exposure to UV rays can cause varying amounts of damage to your eyes. Since we need good vision to ensure many years of driving ahead of us it's important that you get a pair of glasses that fit and feel right and offer maximum protection for UVA and B so that you'll actually wear them and preserve the health of your eyes for years to come.

Lastly, the material that your sunglasses are made from are important as well. Some of the materials used in modern lenses include glass, CR 39 plastic, polycarbonate plastic and acrylic plastic.Glass is heavier, more expensive and tend to shatter on impact, but they offer the best viewing quality and are the most scratch resistant. Polycarbonate plastic is extremely strong, light and is impact resistant; a great choice for just about any rider. CR-39 plastic is thinner and not as heavy and can handle more impact than glass lenses. Lastly acrylic plastic lenses are the least expensive, but the scratch easily.

Harley Davidson Clocks: You'll always know what time it is to head out and right with a Harley clock on the wall. You can get the Harley Bar and Shield clock ($45 MRSP) or the Harley Oil Can Clock ($55 MRSP) and have one of the coolest time pieces around!

I stumbled on this cool Harley accessories catalog that is 80 years old. It's hard to believe that Harley Davidson motorcycles have been around that long and even longer!
